About this opportunity :
The Engineering Manager develops and manages the plans and activities of Engineering Department in Cincinnati. Areas of responsibility include Project and Process Engineering. This position oversees the introduction of new technology at the site, equipment performance, and maintenance plans. Working with the Sr. Engineering Manager establishes and maintains equipment readiness, and project / process execution.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manages allocation of Process engineering resources.
- Assist the department head with determining and communicating project priorities to the engineering group.
- Provide technical guidance to Process/Project Engineers as required or requested.
- Report on the status of projects and resource availability to the group, relevant departments, and superiors as required.
- Provide engineering support and guidance to various departments and personnel throughout the organization.
- Provide technical support to project teams as the Technical Service representative.
- Develop and effectively implement project related methods and procedures as assigned.
- Obtain expert knowledge on unit operations and supporting equipment.
- Train technical personnel in the use, care and safety of manufacturing/facilities assets.
- Collaborate with necessary departments to resolve production problems.
- Provide technical direction and review to relevant processes such as validation, capital, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Manages the activities and resources associated with the implementation of new equipment and processes, as while as maintaining and improving the performance of manufacturing processes.
Job Knowledge Required:
- B.S. Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering with 2+ years technical management experience in a related cGMP field, i.e., pharmaceutical or biotech background.
- Demonstrated project and team leadership skills.
- Demonstrated communication skills – verbal and written
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering concepts required with knowledge of cGMP requirements preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience with 2 years in a chemical or API environment.
- Strong technical skills capable of achieving an Expert level in various unit operations
- Demonstrated hands on engineering capacity; able to effectively troubleshoot in real time.
- Expertise in bulk API manufacturing, especially in oligonucleotides, is highly preferred.
- Experience with process optimization, Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement techniques preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The annualized salary range for this role is between $125,400.00 - $147,600.00.
