About this opportunity :
The purpose of this role is to manage and oversee the Facility Engineering Department at the Massachusetts sites. This candidate is responsible for overseeing the addition, support the maintenance services, and control system of utilities. The position is to lead facility capital project upgrades. The position is a leadership role and will supervise and develop the Facility Engineers to meet planned schedules, key performance indicators, and implement continuous improvements to enhance performance. This position is also responsible for ensuring effective communication of project status between departments and managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assist with maintaining the facility equipment, Controls, and utilities.
- Lead the Engineering and Facilities personnel with the installation, setup, and service of facility utilities.
- Oversee, support and mentor a team of facilities engineering staff, to whom individual tasks and projects will be delegated.
- Responsible for supporting the equipment and facilities maintenance management/supervision in the development of all facility-related preventive maintenance operations.
- Identify and lead facility capital projects to enhance operability and reduce time
- Supports, troubleshoots and repair facility utilities and equipment.
- Work with CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining all facility-related SOPs
- Meet KPIs for the department
- Identify continuous improvements (Techniques, Personnel, Instrumentation, preventative maintenance, new equipment/programs/methods, etc.), implement corrective actions, and evaluate performance
Physical Job Requirements:
- Frequently stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, and crouch
- Can work in tight areas
- Can work in non-tempered air
- Must be able to use fingers/hands to grasp, feel, maneuver, clamp, and hold objects (small/large)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Biomechanical or equivalent field
- Experience in facility utilities, equipment, and controls (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Building Management System, etc.)
- Project Management
- 5-8 years of relative facility experience
- 5+ years of managing/supervising a team
- Experience working in a cGMP and CDMO environment.
- Leads and actively participates in client interface in regard to equipment, facility and utility lifecycle.
- Working with Department Mangers develop the facility annual and long-term strategic capital investment plan and departmental operating budget.
- Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.
- Ability to train and mentor staff on current and new techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively (orally and written)
- Provides troubleshooting support as needed within a 24/7 operating environment.
