About this opportunity :
The Operations Training Manager will be responsible for developing and executing training programs to build a high-quality, high-performing and safety focused workforce within Manufacturing. This role will ensure compliance with manufacturing training requirements while fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. The manager will partner with SMEs across departments to enhance employee skills and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, deliver, and maintain Operations training programs to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), OJT (On the Job Training), JSA (Job Safety Assessments), PHA (Process Hazard Assessments), other documents that can be used for compliance, and department processes.
- Coordinate with SMEs across divisions to ensure Operation employees are compliant with all training requirements.
- Ensure training is accurately tracked to ensure audit readiness.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA), HR, EHS, Engineering, and Operation Leadership to continuously improve training programs.
- Develop KPI (Key Performance Indicators) for tracking training compliance, prepare reports, and update management and applicable departments on training progress.
- Ensure Manufacturing compliance on required training from Nitto Denko, Human Resources, and other Avecia departments.
- Lead a team of training specialists, providing guidance and professional development support.
- Support the development of Operation staff career development and track progress.
- Support maintaining trainings accurate.
- Support SOP updates including compliance with validity reviews.
- Develop and maintain a yearly training program.
- Manage special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Ensure effective interaction with other departments and customer representatives as appropriate.
- Execute other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Engineering, Education, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in technical training roles.
- Experience in a CDMO environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of cGMP and FDA/EMA regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation.
- Knowledge of EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) regulations and best practices in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of cGMP (Current, Good, Manufacturing, Practices).
- Experience with training management systems (LMS), document control systems, and e-learning platforms.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs (classroom, hands-on, e-learning, train-the-trainer).
- Ability to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage employees at all levels.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills for technical and compliance training.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, QA, HR, Engineering, and EHS teams.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
