About this opportunity :
The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager of Commercial Programs is responsible for leading project teams, developing and executing project plans in accordance with Avecia's policies and procedures, developing and improving team procedures and for line management of Project Managers. The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager is the primary contact for Business Development Managers as well as for customers. The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will work closely with all relevant departments within Avecia to ensure projects are delivered within a manner that meets both Avecia's and the customer's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project delivery
- Follow applicable Standard Operating and Business Process Procedures for Project Management responsibilities.
- Ensure project teams/ representatives perform appropriate procedural assessments.
- Ensure that a project plan is maintained, and all tracking mechanisms are completed (Service Revenue, QUOTIF, Stage Gate Reviews, Change Orders, Project Steering Committee inputs, Post Event Review)
- Identify and escalate scope change, resource and schedule conflicts.
- Through interaction with Quality Assurance, ensure all aspects of Quality System and cGMP are actively addressed in compliance with the appropriate regulatory and internal standards.
- Project communication
- Ensure appropriate project documentation (minutes, emails, etc.) that captures critical information is disseminated to all applicable individuals in a timely manner.
- Ensure communication is performed in a timely and sensitive manner, especially regarding any adverse events that may occur.
- Cost management
- Provide Finance with timely invoices according to proposal & change order milestones and monthly revenue recognition updates.
- Shipping
- Act as the liaison with clients and the shipping department to coordinate shipping activities including shipping validations.
- Work with Business Development to review new proposals and supply agreements and to also capture any scope creep / change orders as are needed.
The Senior Project Manager manages assigned personnel consistent with company policies and procedures. Motivate, develop, and coach members of the group to achieve identified objectives, maximize their potential and continuously improve effectiveness in meeting business needs.
- Lead the identification and evaluation of areas for project process improvements.
- Participate with other departments in the development and project management of activities to enable the department to improve its support to the business and in a changing environment.
- Participate in the recruitment of personnel to maintain an effective level of technical ability and human resource for current and future business requirements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- B.S. degree with 2 or more years of Project Management experience for Project Manager level.
- B.S. degree with 5 or more years of Project Management experience for Senior level.
- Knowledge of bulk API manufacturing and I or a strong background in cGMP / contract manufacturing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
