About this opportunity :

 

The Research Scientist II is responsible for meeting the analytical testing requirements to support research and development projects primarily focused on oligonucleotides.

 

Key Responsibilities: 


•    Design and execute testing per method or protocol for development, qualification, verification, validation, and transfer of analytical methods.
•    Analyze and review project data, correct errors, and report results to support research and development primarily focused on oligonucleotides.
•    Provide analytical support to Process Development and Manufacturing and help develop process controls.
•    Design, review, and perform method development experiments.
•    Perform GDP and technical project team review.
•    Author technical documentation (e.g., development and validation reports).
•    Provide technical and project leadership in analytical project meetings.
•    Improve laboratory compliance.
•    Provide basic to intermediate-level training in lab techniques and procedures.
•    Plan, track and execute team tasks to deliver project results on time.
•    Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
•    Communicate with clients and elevate issues to laboratory management.
•    Contribute to department objectives for continuous improvement and technical excellence.
•    Assist in mediating personnel conflicts within the team and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:


•    BA/BS with 4+ yrs. of related experience, MS with 2+ yrs. of related experience, or PhD with 0+ yrs. of related experience.
•    Analytical chemistry knowledge including theory and application of multiple fundamental analytical techniques for identification, purity, and assay of various analytes.
•    Perform and improve any laboratory procedures.
•    Operate and troubleshoot KF, U/HPLC, and LC-MS instruments.
•    Independently learn new instruments and techniques.
•    Apply undergraduate general, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry to creatively solve problems.
•    Intermediate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•    Perform common algebraic and statistical calculations correctly.
•    Proficient in technical writing and inter-department presentations.
•    Author and edit laboratory SOPs.
