About this opportunity :

 

This role is responsible for a wide range of financial activities, including general accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. It leads the Investment Committee process by reviewing proposals, securing approvals, and ensuring consistent capital expenditure analyses while monitoring capital spend and ongoing projects. The position also serves as site liaison for insurance, managing contract risk reviews, annual questionnaires, and specialized policies such as product liability. In addition, the role supports ad hoc finance and corporate initiatives, including system implementations and process improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Manage general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
  • Support financial reporting and assist with the semi-annual budget process.
  • Lead the Investment/Capital Committee, including reviewing proposals, obtaining approvals, preparing investment plans, and ensuring consistent payback and capital expenditure analyses.
  • Monitor capital spend, track ongoing projects, and oversee project capitalization, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget).
  • Serve as site liaison for insurance by reviewing contract risks, completing annual questionnaires, and coordinating with insurance agents on renewals and business-specific policies (e.g., product liability).
  • Provide backup support for the Finance Manager, including short-term coverage and training others on financial procedures.
  • Contribute to system implementations and process improvement initiatives (e.g., ADP timesheets, Concur) to achieve project milestones and deliverables
  • Support the payroll function by supporting bi-weekly payroll review and acting as backup for running payroll as needed.
  • Support ad hoc finance and corporate projects as required.


Required Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA, CMA qualification or MBA preferred.  
  • 5-7+ years of accounting experience in a mid to large size company.
  • Knowledge and use of a major accounting package (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards). Prior use of SAP Hana accounting software would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people on a wide range of projects.
  • Ability to think through problems critically and analytically.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Strong focus on upholding standard.

 

The annualized salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $102,400.00
