Nitto Avecia is looking for a Senior MES Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This position will fill a high impact, instrumental role in the implementation of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and will initially be responsible for developing first-of-kind electronic batch records and MES system configurations. The position will continually drive digital transformation and continuous improvement, as well as support PLC/SCADA troubleshooting efforts. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and quality assurance to enhance production efficiency, data visibility, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of MES solutions to support manufacturing operations.
- Work with cross functional teams to define user requirements and ensure successful MES implementation.
- Develop and maintain MES-related operating texts, workflows, system configurations, scripts, and data models.
- Support validation activities within a regulated industry, ensuring compliance with GMP’s (e.g. FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, ICH Q7).
- Lead digitalization and MES related continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal computerized systems validation and life cycle policies.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting MES and PLC/SCADA related issues.
- Support change management initiatives and technical document generation (functional specifications, SOP’s, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Automation & Controls related field
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in MES, automation engineering, and/or implementing manufacturing solutions.
- Expertise in MES platforms (Siemens Opcenter a plus).
- Strong knowledge of automated systems (PLC/SCADA – Rockwell and Ignition a plus) and ERP Integration (SAP a plus)
- Experience with SQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server), scripting (Python, VB), and industrial communication protocols (OPC, MQTT, Rest API etc.)
- Experience in regulated environments (pharmaceutical, food & beverage, etc.)
- Certification in MES Platforms preferred.
- Experience with Industry 4.0 / Pharma 4.0 technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of IT/OT convergence preferred.
