This position is accountable for the shipping function, and execution of shipping procedures. The domestic and international shipping function encompass Hazards and non-Hazards materials, and equipment. The role is accountable for Inventory management of intermediates and final API from receipt after manufacturing until shipment and delivery to the final destination. All transactions must comply with internal standard operating procedure, and external regulatory agencies. The role is responsible in development direct reports, and tracking KPIs, identifying improvements, share improvement plans, and lead improvements to enhance compliance and improve operability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receipt, verification and storage of incoming intermediate/final product(s) from Manufacturing, in accordance with prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Material Specifications, as applicable.
- Coordination and reconciliation of all Item/Lot/Quantity movements for intermediate/final API Product and, both internal and external-client shipment transactions.
- Plan, package, ship, and track for both domestic and international, for hazards, non-hazards, and equipment.
- Proficiency in all areas of shipping and logistics, specifically domestic and international shipping via FedEx, UPS, Global Freight Forwarders, as well as associated international shipping documentation.
- Working with Project Management on any shipment validation requirements, routine Final Product shipments, and associated activities as a primary responsibility.
- Maintain compliance with internal SOPs, DOT, IATA, and other training as necessary, and Certifications.
- Maintain inventory accuracy for intermediate/final API with the logistic department jurisdiction.
- Address deviations, investigations, and Correctives/Preventative Actions.
- Support and lead in updating SOPs.
- Developing and training of the shipping staff working in a cGMP environment.
- Representing Supply Chain in quality audits relative to inventory control and management.
- Identifying material variances and the necessary adjustments in SAP.
- Completing monthly reports and tracking departmental KPIs
- Engaging in and leading continuous improvement activities (5S, operation, safety, and quality).
- Ensurin effective interaction with other departments and customer representatives as appropriate.
- Executing other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- BS degree or equivalent relevant experience with appropriate certification in inventory management, planning, and logistics required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in shipping within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or similar cGMP regulated environment.
- Minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- IATA and DOT certified.
- Experience and proven capabilities in cross-functional communications and interaction required.
- Proficient and experienced in managing an SAP system.
- Demonstration of the ability to apply standard lean tools/six sigma to improve effectiveness and efficiency is strongly desired.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills required.
- Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite of applications required.
The annualized salary range for this position is $83,000.00 - $97,900.00.
