About this opportunity :

 

The QC Environmental Analyst III supports manufacturing operations by performing environmental monitoring of the cleanrooms, and sampling and testing of the water system, as well as perform additional microbial sampling and testing as required. The position works within the QC lab on assigned tasks following written procedures and protocols.  The individual also assists in the maintenance of overall laboratory systems. The individual provides training and guidance for other QC Environmental Analysts. The individual troubleshoots/resolves issues associated with laboratory methods and instruments where possible or seeks guidance/authorization where required from QC Microbiology management. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform water sampling as required per current procedures 
  • Perform Environmental Monitoring as required per current procedures 
  • Assist in writing and updating of documents as required  
  • Initiate and Author Alert and Action documents as required 
  • Coordinate with contract labs as appropriate 
  • Data reporting, and maintaining water trending and environmental monitoring data charts and tables 
  • Assist QC team with purchasing and ordering as necessary. 
  • Work with QC team on maintaining chemical inventory and supplies 
  • Perform lab housekeeping and maintenance as required 
  • Leading quality investigations associated with deviations, change control and CAPA 
  • Specialized job assignments to help support the efforts of the Quality Control Microbiology group 
  • Assist the QC Team Leader in Customer Audits as needed. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

 

  • BS in chemistry, biology or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 4-7 years of experience in a microbiological lab environment. 
  • Experience and familiarity with gel clot, turbidimetric, chromogenic endotoxin assay formats, water bioburden testing (such as membrane filtration), total organic carbon analysis, conductivity analysis, basic microbial aseptic techniques associated with media management, Gram staining, streaking for isolation, phenotypic or genetic microbial identification assays, media growth promotion and media sterility testing, plate enumeration, environmental monitoring in classified cleanrooms (ISO 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and Controlled Non-classified) which would include non-viable air, viable air, surface and swab sampling, water sampling, water chemistry testing for nitrates, coliform and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Drinking Water sampling
