POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under general guidance, develop material requirements planning (MRP), forecasting material needs based on production schedules.  Collaborate with production and procurement teams to align material availability with production demands. Analyze inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts and optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs. Communicate insights and reports to support strategic decision-making, including material requirements to buyers for execution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES

Develops and manages the MRP system to ensure accurate material requirements.  Analyzes production schedules to determine necessary materials. 

Ensures and sustains MRP data reflects those changes in the demand and supply section. 
 
Generates material requirements report and provides information to procurement staff for action. 

Builds forecasting models for future material requirements using statistical standards, including displaying historical data.

Adjusts forecasts based on production changes, booking trends, and consumption rates.

Analyzes raw material inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts an optimize stock levels to reduce costs.

Evaluates material usage patterns and consumption rates to identify trends. Prepares detailed reports and dashboards for management review. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives. 

Work closely with production planning, procurement, and manufacturing teams.

Aligns material availability with production demands to meet customer requirements.

Communicates material requirements and priorities to Buyers.

Identifies and recommends process improvement to enhance material planning and inventory processes.

Develops and implements best practices for demand planning and inventory management.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field; and eight (8) to ten (10) years’ directly related experience in materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain analysis. 

Strong understanding of MRP systems and materials planning in a manufacturing environment using statistical forecasting methods and data analysis techniques.
 
Working knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes, and best practices in supply chain industry trends. 

Knowledge of inventory management strategies and cost reduction techniques.

Strong application of critical thinking skills along with exceptional problem-solving skills, including skills in researching, collecting, and analyzing data.

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software such as JD Edwards and Power BI. 

Advance language skills with the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Write clear processes, manuals and reports for management review and present technical information in understandable terms and respond to questions from groups of customers, employees, management and/or public.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, high-level of accuracy and strong follow-through and follow-up across a cross-functional matrix teams. 

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as using a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and achieve results in fast-paced, dynamic environment. Certificates: CPIM, CPSM and/or Data Analytics.
