POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is necessary 1) to keep accuracy for all financial record and reporting, 2) to manage cash including supervision of payment/receipt 3) to develop more efficient process 4) to lead solving issues based on direction from senior management of the department 5) to supervise accounting staff as senior manager. Addition to the above roles, this position includes activities for accuracy of financial reporting and enhancing financial healthiness for Nitto Group Companies in Americas. This job contributes to meet essential financial requirement as an affiliate company of multinational enterprise listed in stock exchange market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Timely and accurate completion of month end, quarter end, year end closing and account reconciliations.
- Process improvement in areas of “record to report, order to cash/pay.
- Window with financial institutions, cash management, forecast, financial cost control.
- Handling all issues relating to areas of responsibility with other departments, or parent company base on the direction of the Sr. Controller.
- Managing activities relating to America’s Area Finance including consultation of financial matters for other Nitto Group Companies in Americas such as hosting Americas area finance meeting, handling tax issues, arrangement of cash pooling, intercompany loans, dividend, support of financial closing and report, monitoring of financial result and ROIC.
- Leading and supervising the Shared Service group providing accounting service to multiple Nitto entities in the Americas.
- Control headcount in each location, Hours saving from process improvement.
- Meeting deadline for financial closing.
- Preventing financial fraud or inappropriate operation (i.e. no significant fining in KPMG financial audit, J-Sox audit).
- Appropriate cash management.
- Achieving department’s goals in specified due date.
- All other duties assigned by Nitto Leadership team.

- To evaluate subordinate and report to senior controller
- To hire / replace necessary resources considering roles and business situation.
- To create, change or streamline processes to achieve requirement more efficiently.
- Financial transaction within the decision-making rule, financial rules
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
This position requires to have good understanding for accounting rule (especially IFRS) and needs to provide solution to incorporate such idea into our real operation and to have constructive communication skill to get understanding and support from other departments to solve issues. This challenge will be got over through interactive communication with non-accounting people who is close to real transaction.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Budget approval, spending, tracking and reporting is required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- CPA Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position.
- Experience in general accounting operations (posting, JE’s, closing, reporting).
- Proficiency in Microsoft office 365 required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
- Bilingual in Japanese required
- Operation of ERP system; Experience in JD Edwards a plus.
- Excellent Communication skills and ability to achieve cooperation across departments
- Leadership to lead staff in professional and coaching aspect
- Flexibility – willing to adopt new method, technology to achieve goal quickly and efficiently
- Having strong ethics, thinking and acting fairly, neutrally, impartially.
